Brussels Winter Wonders 2012 (Xmas Market)

Christmas Tree Grand Place The Brussels Christmas Winter wonder (Plaisirs d’hiver). The time when all of Brussels glows! Starting last week of november through to Christmas and new year’s eve, a wonderful two kilometre market opens with all the winter Christmas cheer anyone can muster.

At the Brussels Grand Place don’t miss the giant christmas tree, the nativity scene (with some living cheep in the barn) all in the centre of the square. Every nights the town hall (Hotel de Ville) lights up with all different colours and patterns with an amazing light and sound show.

The streets from the Grand Place to the “Place Sainte Catherine” are lined with vendors with all kinds of Christmas paraphernalia, season food and drink and light shows all night, this is the place to be for Christmas market lovers. There are fairy ground attractions like the ferries wheel, an ice skating rink with a winter cafe.

One might get so much fun and activities all about Christmas like the Christmas carols blasting from an invisible speaker, ice skating, riding the wheel, eating some Belgian waffles and exotic Belgian spicy mulled beer, at night is more exhilarating especially when the light show is on.

The Christmas winter market of Brussels is a worldwide tourist event that leaves many with the memories to last them a lifetime.
